News about the Orisas
Greetings to everyone!
Did you know that in ancient times,
during the slavery period in this city, the descendants of Oduduwa, despite
their respective orgins, used to speak
the same language to communicate with each other?
They called themselves
"Anagô", people calle their language " Anagô language" or
simply "Nagô".
We must not forget that it is
important to deal with what is happening in the world right now.
Let the protection of the Gods of
the land of Oduduwa will be guaranteed to all of us.
Loved ones, I come here today because
I want to talk about Orisa’ as chants..
Last week, I was invited to participate
in the birth of a new Orisa, that is, in an Iyaô Naming ceremony.
We chanted many chants in praise of
Oris Oxóssi, but I couldn't understand thr eords in the chants what they were
singing.
This has always worried me in my
life.
I dedicate due respect to the work
our ancestors did to give us the religious culture we inherited from them.
Therefore, I think is our duty to be very careful with this language and
culture.
It is very important that the
Yoruba language and culture be maintained as a bridge that connects all Yoruba
peoples around the world, as a single ethnic group, that is, as Brothers and
sisters.
As I said, I came to talk about
Orisá. I also said that I wanted to talk about the Orisa Oxóssi, but, as a son
of the Orisa and Vodun, I defend that we cannot talk about any deity without
saluting Esú Elegbara, the Master of the Power
Don't snatch us away, Eshu.
Eshú doesn't change anything
without a history
Don't snatch us away, Eshu...
