Nago language will not disappear

Greetings to all Oduduwa's children around the world

Brazil is the country with the largest black population in the world, after Nigeria.

Most of the brazilian population is of African descent.

Perhaps because of this situation, some of the languages and cultures inherited from our grandparents is still very much in vogue today.

At least three languages from the Black Continent continue to be used today in connection with traditional religions.

The Nagô is one of these languages.

I apologize to all of you, my black brothers, for any inconvenience I may cause by saying what I have to say. Don't be angry with me, but, with no doubt, the Nagô, after Portuguese, is the most spoken language in this country.

In ancient times, especially in Salvador, capital of the state of Bahia, Nagô became a Lingua Franca spoken by many Africans, regardless of their ethnicity.

Today, Nagô is called the Yoruba.

Did you know that due to the importance of the Yoruba culture and language, the state of Bahia was chosen as the Yoruba Capital for all the Americas?

Yes, in June 2018, the Ooni from Ilê-Ifé, King Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi II visited Brazil.

In Bahia, on the 10th of that month, the King himself announced that the state would become the capital of the Yoruba nation for all the Americas.

So let's teach our kids the Yoruba language and culture
